And here we are in Penang again. This time staying Evergreen Hotel at Gurney Drive. 1. Here is the hotel. 2. Here is the room. 3. And this is the view from my window. For coffee during breakfast they give you a coffee machine to make your own coffee, cappucino, expressor, single or double, outa sight!

Fantastic One Ton (wanton) mee at Lorong Sulu off McAllister Road just beside the best durian Ah Teik's. More fantastic chicken feet, so soft, melts in your mouth.

First dinner at Fong Wei Heong Restaurant 150rm for 7 dishes. Sambal kangkong, fish maw and crab meat soup (per bowl for 3), Spring Roll, Oyster omelette, lemon mango chicken, prawn salad and thinly sliced crispy pork. The oyster omelette is rather dry and plain even though its huge and has a lot of oysters. Best dishes? 1. fish maw and crab meat soup, big serving. 2. Prawn salad 3. Lemon mango chicken

This afternoon for lunch we had the best nasi kandar at Hameediya 184 Lebuh Campbell. Absolutely fabulous and value for money. For the evening meal we went to May Garden Palace Restaurant and had suckling pig (half for 130rm) and fantastic first class double boiled Seafood Treasure Soup (30rm per bowl). These 2 must be ordered a day ahead. Then we had the goose web (not bad) spring roll (so so)and chendol (no good). Suckling piglet absolutely fabulous (sorry half way eating then realised have not taken picture) This is a top of the line soup at 30rm per bowl. This goose web is delicious but not as good as the chicken feet we had at One Ton Mee earlier. May Garden Palace Restaurant is just beside Cititel Hotel at 70 Penang Road. +60 4 261 6435 So, for the 3 of us, we had 1/2 a suckling piglet, 3 bowls of Sea Treasure Soup, goose web, spring roll, 3 chendols and the bill came to 307rm.

Last day in Penang before flying back tomorrow morning. Durian is ok but not great as its December. Another great place for food, Tek Seng at 18 Lebuh Carnavon Georgetown. The "Sio BaK" is good but not great but the white pomfret assam is fabulous and the assam prawns are out of this world. The assam prawns and sambal potato leaf. On the left is Sio Bak top is the assam pomfret and right is the fried pomfret. Each pomfret dish is 65rm assam prawns is 37rm and three lime juices plus potato leaf plus rice plus tax and tips adds to a total of 207rm but worth it. Lastly, the best hawker char kway teow in Penang? The coffee shop at the junction of MacAlister and Rangoon Road and the char kway teow stall right at that corner.
