Are you trying to show her in her surrounding? If not then there is too much empty space - should go nearer and fill the frame with her picture. Better in portrait than landscape.

Chief, been noticing a lot of portraits, the focus on people very sharp, is it the user or the lens that is soft ? I am using a Tamron 90mm.
Actually try to capture the dog n my friend more. Noted the surrounding too much empty space. Thanks Chief....

The composition of this as Chief puts it is too much space.. I would crop the left tree away and move the subject more to the left and crop some of the top off while you at it The shot looks sharp to me.. why the question about more sharp without PS ?

I seen few portrait and they appeared more sharper, could be the lens they using or ps coz to me this photo seems to soft in overall... trying to find out if it is me or the lens thats most photo taken be appearing soft..... Lowlights, u mentioned crop the left tree away and move the subject more to the left and crop some of the top off while you at it, is it like what chief mentioned to go closer and use a portrait ? Sorry am slow ...

I dont know if this word be more suitable to use....the outline of the person.... I see what you want.. some call it the pop effect .. Which can can be done by 1)shooting at the widest aperture .. in this case 2.8 2) the background must not be too near to the subject But do note that this easier achieve with a prime lens then zoom..
