Disclaimer - This is not targeted at any individual so do not, I repeat, do not, in your self importance thinks its directed at you.
Wants this forum to be different with people forming a commune of care and kindness for one another. Come join us to change the world.
Photography as a hobby can be enjoyed quietly by oneself and with a group such as a forum like fotographique, however in a group there then need to be a decorum and mode of behavior that is acceptable to all the member of the group and what would be a guideline for such mode of behavior?
Like "Deep Thought" in the Hichthikers Guide To The Galaxy who said when he was ask "Are you or are you not the most powerful computer in the Galaxy?" and he answered "No, I'm not" and they ask, "Then who is?" and he answered "The next one coming after me."
I have deep thought and came up with this guideline (yes, I know the above paragraph has nothing to do with this.),
The 1/3 - 2/3 rule:
Explanation:
Give 3/3 -If you give all which is 3/3, people will suck you dry (you give and give and they take and take) and you're most likely a sucker.
Give 2/3, take 1/3 - would be ideal, as you give more than you take and at least you have something in return and nobody can accuse you of being a taker.
Give 1/3, take 2/3 - still ok not too bad, tolerable, not over extensive, still not considered selfish
Take 3/3, give none - this is not good for you and you would want to change as its not nice to do that, and if you cannot change do give this forum a miss.
Actually everyone gives their all - the question is:
To Self? The Self wants it all and is given all. (Why is that? Read the book "The Selfish Genes)
To the inner circle? Like the family or the Department of the company you work in, its not saying its wrong, its just, wouldn't you feel better and more fulfill if you extend it farther?
To the outer and remote circle? Like outsiders and strangers or members of this forum? The true altruist?
One thing I'm sure after so many years of living is, stay away from 3/3, you cannot win because they take and take and never give in return and you hope and hope that they can change but they cannot, maybe they have the most selfish genes of all (this is refering to the book "The Selfish Genes")
This is another hot one. Sorry ah, just like this kind of things.
Ramble...ramble....ramble.....
