Perhaps you should check out DP1x. I am trying to get my hands on this and am in contact with Sigma Singapore ;D

Both looks good - might depend on what you want to do with it. For macro the flip out screen might be useful but Sigma's DP1X large sensor might awesome - gotta see the price.

Ya, think the bottom line will come down to pricing. Been wanting to change my compact for sometime now, but don't know which to get, the LX3 now or wait for the other 2. Will use it for macro and traveling if I don't want to lug too many camera stuff along

The EX1 should be around 600 plus. Sigma Singapore had offered me 699 for the DP1. So I guess the DP1x is around 800 plus.

oh yeah, one more thing. The LX3 has F2 while the DP1x has F4.

And the EX1 has F1.8, plus if it's around 600+ with flip out screen, could be the more advantageous choice... aiyo, DP1 using CF card.....

Just received confirmation from Sigma Singapore that they will not bring in the DP1x.

Guess what? I waited... and finally got the EX1 yesterday at the PC Show. Haven't actually played with it yet, just trying out the macro function. Here's a 1st pic result. Please ignore the shadow, I took the pic at night under florescent light. ISO 80, F1.8, 1/3 sec, handheld, AWB auto

Looks interesting, come lets go macro shooting at Pasir Ris Park to try it out. Does your diopter fit the lens?

No, the Raynox's spring loaded adapter for the diopter cannot fit the lens. Think I need to get a similar adapter like the one you use for the LX3. Where do I get that or to see if it fits in the first place? The pic of the thumbdrive above I took in macro mode with the lens at it's widest, 24mm. The lens was about 2-3cm from the thumbdrive, quite close to the subject already. Yes, want to go macro shooting, haven't done that in awhile. When? Sunday? or 2 weekends from now?

is the size of the samsung lens same as the LX3? if it is, you can try out my adapter. How about this Saturday afternoon 19th June macro at Pasir Ris Park say 3pm onwards, meet at white sands. Anyway long time have not seen each other, would be good to get together again.
